When our dreams of a better future expand from our minds into the world, take form before our eyes, they become more tangible. Not just as distant hopes, but as living, breathing visions we can touch, feel, and return to when the path feels heavy. In a world saturated with uncertainty, cynicism, and fragmentation, we need a space where vision and community meet—a space where imagination isn't just an escape, but a foundation. This is what I hope to offer with the Embodied Vision Portal experiences.
Rooted in Purpose: Why We Begin with Vision
At its heart, the Embodied Vision Portal is more than a creative experience. It is a sacred encounter with purpose. Each session invites a group to coalesce around their collective why, to see it not just as words or goals but as an embodied, felt vision. We move beyond strategy and into soul through meditation, reflection, and art.
The artwork that emerges from this process—that I channel from the shared energies—becomes an anchor. A talisman. A visual reminder that holds the essence of what the group believes in and what they are building, even when resistance rises or doubts creep in. It radiates purpose long after the session ends.
Why now? Because we are living in times of unraveling and reimagining. Despair has become ambient. Dystopian futures crowd the airwaves, numbing our capacity to dream. This experience—my offering—exists as an antidote and a gentle rebellion rooted in imagination. It says: yes, there is pain and complexity. But there is also vision, abundance, and life reaching for healing. It reminds us that our labor toward the good is not in vain. That we are not alone.
The values at the heart of the Embodied Vision Portal are clear and straightforward: every being is inherently valuable. We belong to Earth and each other. Love and abundance are not fantasies but foundations when we live by them. The future seeded here is reciprocity, integration, interconnection, and non-hierarchy—a culture where systems thinking flows naturally because we see ourselves as part of a living whole.
The process of the sessions is deeply personal. It was born out of my journey from disconnection to reintegration. From a life overly focused on logic and separation to one that honors intuition, body, spirit, community, and the universe's divine nature—each step a layer of coming home.
Participants often reflect a similar shift. They leave the workshop feeling held, seen, and inspired. There is a softening, a return of hope. And from that place, something essential can begin.
The Visioning Journey: How We Weave the Portal Together
The alchemy of the Embodied Vision Portal begins with how we gather. The space is held with deep care through grounding meditations, authenticity, and an atmosphere of nonjudgment. We practice deep listening, openness of heart, and affirmation. This foundation of trust allows participants to drop into something more vulnerable, more true.
The guided visualization meditation invites individual and collective imagination to stretch their wings. We connect each participant’s heart to a web of love—a shared energetic field. Within that field, visions emerge: fragments of the world we long for, whispered through the body and mind.
We follow this with a sharing circle, where each voice is heard and honored. The circle becomes a mirror, reflecting the interconnected nature of our desires.
During the final phase, I begin to paint. Drawing from the words, energies, and archetypes that surfaced, I create a shared vision portal—a painting that holds the essence of the group’s collective longing.
Why art? Because it makes the intangible visible. Thoughts are fleeting; art gives them shape. Much like journaling can anchor an emotion or idea, painting captures the vision and allows it to live beyond the moment. It moves it closer to reality. A visual element has a unique power to inspire, remind, and guide.
We cannot build what we cannot imagine. Regenerative systems—those that renew and enliven—require vast imagination. They are a rejection of the status quo and a celebration of what is possible. They require not just planning, but dreaming. This is what the Embodied Vision Portal cultivates.
From Vision to Action: Bridging Imagination and Systems
This process doesn’t end in inspiration. It becomes a bridge to action.
For facilitators, cooperatives, grassroots organizers, and value-driven groups, this workshop offers a profound tool: a way to align hearts before designing structures. Through shared vision, the group forms a deeper trust, a clearer sense of belonging, and a vivid picture of the future they want to walk toward.
Starting with the Embodied Vision Portal shifts everything. When values, vision, and energy are aligned from the beginning, strategies and systems can be built to serve the mission, not the other way around. We stop reacting. We begin responding. We pause long enough to ask: Is this truly the path that leads to what we long for?
The act of seeing one's vision reflected in the collective painting also fosters systems thinking. It contextualizes individual insights within the group’s larger narrative. Each person begins to see how their gifts, dreams, and concerns are woven into a greater whole. And from that awareness, more resilient, more adaptive structures can emerge.
Urgency often drives systems that are brittle and misaligned. But when systems are built from a place of inner clarity and connection, they move at a pace that allows space for intuition, reflection, and sustainable action. We slow down for the sake of creating lasting momentum.
The Future Unfolding: A Glimpse of What’s Possible
What could unfold if more communities and organizations practiced visioning?
Imagine regenerative collectives rooted in reciprocity. Decision-making models that honor every voice. Cultures where belonging is not contingent on productivity but on intrinsic worth. These are not utopian dreams—they are the natural outcomes of aligning systems with shared vision and love.
As the Embodied Vision Portal evolves, I imagine an even more co-creative form: where everyone brings their creative gifts into the circle, not just through reflection but through art, sound, movement, and story—a true collaborative ecosystem of expression.
Walking Toward the Possible: An Invitation to Vision in Community
May we continue to paint the world we long for—together, with reverence, imagination, and wild hope. May our visions become not only maps, but portals. And may we have the courage to walk through them, hand in hand.
What might your community’s portal look like? And who will step through it with you?
If you're curious to experience this in your own community or organization, I would be honored to hold space for you. You can learn more or schedule a workshop by reaching out directly to me or simply replying to this newsletter.
Let’s dream into the possible, together.
As always, with love,
Maria

Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that the land on which I live is the ancestral home of the Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, and Menominee peoples. These Indigenous communities cared for this land long before the arrival of European settlers and continue to contribute to its cultural and ecological richness today.
I invite us to honor the enduring presence and sovereignty of Native peoples and commit to learning from and supporting their voices and leadership.
Your work consistently identifies, exemplifies, and uplifts communal creativity and the spirituality of collaboration. It’s refreshing—but more than that, it’s affirming. In a time that emphasizes using our talents to build community, your message gently subverts that norm by suggesting we use community to build talent—to nurture something truly great. I think that’s why I keep returning, aside from your uniquely calming tone.
In a way, it feels better than me—admirable because it’s attainable, but still, always somehow better. Better because I’m missing that essential piece: community in my creative practice. Especially now, after having been so community-driven in my younger years. I’m hoping the reverence I feel for your work brings me closer to a return.
Thank you.
